These Artists Have Cancelled Shows Due To The Corona Virus

After the rapid spreading of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), a couple of artists have cancelled some shows. On this page, you’ll find a summary of the artists who have cancelled shows due to the virus. This is a live post and will be updated when more artists cancel shows.

Slam Dunk Festival:
Slam Dunk Festival are postponing their festival dates to the 5th (Leeds) and 6th (Hatfield) of September.
The original tickets will remain valid.
So far, almost all of the artists of the original line-up have reacted positively to this news so the line-up will hopefully remain pretty much the same.

Danny Wimmer Presents Festivals:

Three major festivals, organized by DWP, have been cancelled due to the Corona virus.
The festivals, Sonic Temple, Epicenter and Welcome To Rockville.
People who bought passes have the following three options:

  • Full refund
  • Apply your pass to 2021
  • Exchange your pass for another 2020 DWP festival

The last option is available as Louder Than Life, Bourbon & Beyond and Aftershock are still happening and they are even adding a Thursday to 2020 Louder Than Life which will be headlined by Metallica.

The 1975:
The 1975 are one of the latest act to cancel their scheduled shows for April and May. The band was supposed to play some shows in April and May, but due to the ongoing health situation, these shows are postponed. The band urges fans to hold on to their tickets though, as they will be announcing the new dates shortly.

Glastonbury Festival:
Glastonbury Festival was supposed to take place late June 2020 but unfortunately has been cancelled. The organisation behind the popular festival revealed that even though they are hoping for the situation to be much better at the end of June, they cannot possibly prepare the ground for the huge festival in the country’s current state. Therefore, their only viable option would be to cancel their highly anticipated 50th edition.

Dance Gavin Dance:
Dance Gavin Dance have postponed their huge US tour, which would have been their biggest tour to date. The band will, however, be postponing the shows, rather than cancelling them and they will have new show dates for you shortly.

Download Festival Australia:
Because My Chemical Romance will not be performing at Download Festival Australia and the festival could not secure another headliner, they have decided to cancel the entire festival. They are currently working with both My Chemical Romance and Deftones to schedule separate headline shows in Australia in 2020.

My Chemical Romance:
My Chemical Romance have postponed their Japan show, as well as the Download appearance. They are working towards rescheduling the shows, but no dates have been revealed just yet. They have now also postponed their performances at Download festival in Australia and New Zealand.

Avril Lavigne:
After cancelling her Asian tour leg and some European shows, Avril Lavigne has now cancelled her entire European tour because so many governments in Europe are banning large events and gatherings. You can find the announcement on her Twitter account.

Billie Eilish:
Billie Eilish has postponed all her US tour dates. She will keep everyone updated about when the new dates will be. You can check the dates and her messages on her Instagram story.

Riverdale:
Not only music, but also TV shows are hurt by the spreading of the virus. It has just become general knowledge that the popular Netflix series Riverdale shut down production because of the virus. A rep from Warner has shared with news outlet TMZ that a member of the production has recently been in contact with someone who tested positive for the coronavirus COVID 19. For safety keeping, production is currently suspended.

Coachella: Coachella has been postponed for six months due to the public health dangers. The world-famous festival will now take place in October of this year. To be specific, the festival will take place in the weekends of October 9 and October 16.

BTS:
The K-pop band had a couple of shows planned for April in Seoul, South-Korea. These shows have been cancelled due to the virus.

Stormzy:
Rapper Stormzy took to social media to share that he had to postpone some of the shows on his ongoing world tour. The shows that were planned to take place in Asia have all been postponed. New dates will be revealed shortly.

Green Day:
Earlier today, Green Day took to social media to reveal they have postponed their upcoming Asian tour leg as well. Fans can hold on to their tickets, as the band will be releasing new show dates for Asia shortly.

Starset:
Starset were forced to cancel their demonstration tomorrow’s show in Milan, Italy. The authorities have extended the “no-show period”.

Set It Off:
Set It Off have cancelled their Asian headliner shows and the show with Jimmy Eat World. Via Twitter, the band shares: "Due to unforeseen circumstances and for everyone’s safety, our Asia headlining shows & our shows with Jimmy Eat World will not be taking place this March. Were so sorry and will be doing our best to come back as soon as possible. Refunds will be made at the point of purchase."

Yungblud:
Yungblud has postponed the Asian portion of his upcoming tour due to the dangers of the virus. Here’s what Yungblud shared:
"A bit of bad news. I’m going to have to cancel this Asia tour because we’ve been advised about the travel risks in terms of the coronavirus. At first I was going to say fuck it and come but we have been advised again to seriously not.

"I just wanted to send a message just to say I’m really thinking about you all a lot and I want to send all my love and I hope everyone is safe and I hope everyone is trying to be as positive as they can. I love you so much, I’ll be back so soon. I promise, I swear to god. I’m going to get out there as soon as I can. I’ll see you soon, I love you, look after each other, stay safe"

Slipknot:
Slipknot have postponed their upcoming Asian shows, including the Knotfest shows.

Papa Roach & Hollywood Undead:
Papa Roach and Hollywood Undead have cancelled the Italian show, but now also the Dutch show which was scheduled to take place this weekend. This due to the government shutting down events this upcoming weekend.

Poppy:
Poppy was yet to kick off her tour, but revealed that she is postponing the tour due to the many governments that are shutting down concerts and other events in their countries.

Palaye Royale:
Palaye Royale have rescheduled some of the shows they had left on their European tour also due to various governments shutting the doors for concerts and events with more than 1.000 attendees.
