While the popular sitcom Friends has only been on Netflix since the beginning of this year, a media expert has warned that we might not be able to watch the sitcom for much longer on Netflix anymore.

According to Deadline, BTIG media analyst Rich Greenfield feels the sitcom will be taken from the streaming service soon, as WarnerMedia has revealed the plans for their own competing streaming service, likely to launch in 2019 or 2020.

In 2019 or 2020, the streaming service field, in which Netflix is currently sitting on the throne, will have a handful of new powerful players, including the aforementioned WarnerMedia, but also Disney, who will take their titles, including the Star Wars and Marvel franchises, to their own service.

Rich Greenfield shared the following about why he thinks Friends will be removed from Netflix:

”Content like Friends is likely to disappear from Netflix in 2019 as WarnerMedia launches its own SVOD service,” he wrote in an analyst note released ahead of Netflix’s earnings interview. As more content creators launch their own SVOD services, how should investors think about the impact of losing high-profile syndicated content?”

Are you planning on signing up for one or more of the new streaming services, or will you stick with Netflix?
