LIVE REVIEW: Royal Blood Give One Of Amsterdam’s First Concerts In A Long Time
Photos and review by Nylo de Meijer
For many, it was the first show in months or maybe even years: Royal Blood in Amsterdam’s AFAS Live. But are you happy with that?
A sold-out Amsterdam hall, with a total of 6,000 enthusiastic heads. Royal Blood started the evening hard, but not necessarily convincing. It just lacked a bit of enthusiasm during the first song, Typhoons. Fortunately, this was no longer noticeable at the end of the Typhoons track.
The duo, which consists of vocalist and bassist Mike Kerr and drummer Ben Thatcher, then clearly showed that they have not been sitting still in the last couple of months. The music was pounding into your ears, the first few rows of fans were jumping around enthusiastically, which set the tone for the rest of the evening!
From here on out, every high-level song went through AFAS Live. So if this was your first show in ages, you were one of the thousands of people leaving the torn down hall with a smile.
