Director Of “The Incredibles” Talks About A Possible Third Movie
The long-awaited sequel to “The Incredibles”. In fact, people who have watched the first one in the year of its release have waited a total of fourteen years for “The Incredibles 2”.
But what happens after that? Will there be another sequel? Well, officially “The Incredibles 3” has not been confirmed.
However director Brad Bird would totally be aboard, as he recently told Entertainment Weekly, as there are a bunch of ideas and storylines he couldn’t include in the second movie due to its release date being pushed forward. He explains:
“You couldn’t linger on. […] It’s like the episode of ‘I Love Lucy’ when she’s got the candies piling up on the conveyer belt. This film was like that. They took a year off our schedule, so if an idea didn’t work quickly, you had to just kill the darling and move onto the next. And I killed like a city full of darlings.”
So, what does that mean for “The Incredibles”?
“You know, you never say never, because there might be an opportunity to use it. Maybe the idea shows up in a different film. There was an idea I had for an animated version of ‘the Spirit’ that I ended up using in the ‘Iron Giant’. You never know how these things are going to get repurposed. There were a lot of ideas that we had on this film that could be [used]… whether it’s another Incredibles film, or something else.”
What do you think? Will there be a third “Incredibles” film? And more importantly, have you seen the second one yet?
