Sum 41 Announce Final Double Album ‘Heaven :x: Hell’, Release New Single ‘Rise Up’

After long anticipation, Sum 41 have finally revealed the details of their upcoming double album, which will also be the band’s final album to ever release. After 27 years of being a band, Sum 41 are going out with a bang in the shape of a double album titled Heaven :x: Hell, which will be all yours on the 29th of March, 2024 via Rise Records.

On the new album, frontman and vocalist Deryck Whibley shared the following:
“Once I heard the music, I was confident enough to say, ‘This is the record I’d like to go out on.’ We’ve made a double album of pop punk and metal, and it makes sense. It took a long time for us to pave this lane for ourselves, but we did, and it’s unique to us.”

In addition to the announcement of the album, the band have also released the second single off of the album titled Rise Up, which follows the popular release Landmines. Rise Up will be on the ‘Hell’ portion of the album and released with a music video which you can check out at the bottom of this page.

The album has a total of 20 songs, 10 on each side, which looks like this:

HEAVEN-
1. Waiting On A Twist Of Fate
2. Landmines
3. I Can’t Wait
4. Time Won’t Wait
5. Future Primitive
6. Dopamine
7. Not Quite Myself
8. Bad Mistake
9. Johnny Libertine
10. Radio Silence

HELL-

2. Rise Up
3. Stranger In These Times
4. I Don’t Need Anyone
5.Over The Edge
6. House Of Liars
7. You Wanted War
8. Paint It Black
9. It’s All Me
10. How The End Begins

About the band’s end, Deryck Whibley had the following to share:
“I love Sum 41, what we’ve achieved, endured, and stuck together through, which is why I want to call it quits,” Deryck leaves off. “There were so many times we could’ve broken up. For some reason, we kept sticking it out. I’m proud of that. It’s the right time to walk away from it. I’m putting all of my energy into what’s ahead. This is going to be the biggest tour of our lives, and I want to make it the best show we’ve ever done. That’s it.”

Without further ado, check out the brand new music video for Rise Up right below and let us know if you are eager to catch the band on the road somewhere in the upcoming year.

Sum 41 Frontman Deryck Whibley Recovering From Pneumonia, Discharged From Hospital

In a recent update on social media, Ariana Cooper Whibley, the wife of Sum 41‘s frontman Deryck Whibley, has provided heartwarming news regarding her husband’s health after a recent health scare. Deryck was rushed to the Emergency Room on Thursday night due to pneumonia, sparking concerns among fans and friends alike.

However, the latest update brings relief to all those worried about the musician’s well-being. Ariana shared that Deryck has been discharged from the hospital and is now recuperating at home. She expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support and reassured everyone that Deryck has been responding remarkably well to his treatments.

“The pressure and strain on his heart and lungs have improved, and he is able to breathe without as much pain,” Ariana added, providing a hopeful glimpse into her husband’s recovery process.

Deryck is not alone on this journey to recovery; he is receiving the care of two dedicated women. Ariana mentioned, “He’s now under the care of his mother, who is a registered nurse, and myself.”

Ariana‘s recent update came after she had shared the initial news of Deryck’s hospitalization, which understandably triggered memories of a previous health crisis. In 2014, Deryck Whibley faced a life-threatening situation when his liver and kidneys collapsed, resulting in a medically induced coma that lasted a week. Reflecting on this past ordeal, Ariana expressed the emotional challenge of seeing her husband in a hospital bed once again.

“This is obviously not our first time in a situation like this,” Ariana shared in her earlier post, “but it brings back a lot of really difficult memories seeing him back in a hospital bed connected to wires and IVs.”

As Deryck Whibley continues on his path to recovery, the music world and Sum 41 fans around the globe are undoubtedly rooting for his swift return to the stage, armed with newfound strength and the unwavering support of his loved ones.
