Slipknot Part Ways With Sampler And Keyboardist Craig Jones

Slipknot have since deleted the announcement post. They have however posted a photo of a new mask/person, who many fans think would be Jones’ replacement.


In a surprising announcement, Slipknot have announced the departure of sampler and keyboardist Craig Jones. The band took to social media today to share a brief statement, expressing their well wishes for Jones in his future endeavors.

Craig Jones had been an integral part of Slipknot since 1996, contributing electronic embellishments to all seven of the band’s full-length albums. His distinctive spiked gimp mask became synonymous with Slipknot‘s iconic visual aesthetic.

Throughout his tenure with Slipknot, Craig Jones maintained a reputation for staying out of the spotlight and rarely making public statements. It is unlikely that he will provide immediate commentary regarding his departure from the band.

While the specifics surrounding his departure remain undisclosed, the Slipknot community will undoubtedly remember his impact on their favourite songs and live performances.

Slipknot Announce Openers For Upcoming Europe Tour

Slipknot have announced the openers for their Europa tour that starts on June 7th. Sleep Token, Nothing More, Disturbed and I Prevail will all share the stage with Slipknot on select dates.

The upcoming Slipknot tour will mostly consist of festival appearances throughout Europe, however they also have a few headlining shows where they will be taking some other bands with them.

The first date that anyone joins them is June 13th, in The Netherlands. Both Sleep Token and Nothing More will be opening for Slipknot on that date.
The next date is June 14th in Luxembourg. It will only be Nothing More that opens for them at this show.
Of all the Germany appearances 3 of those shows are headlining shows. Sleep Token will join them on the June 20th and 21st performances.
June 24th will be a different show though, Disturbed and I Prevail will be the bands that share the stage with Slipknot. This is also the only show that Disturbed and I Prevail perform on the Slipknot tour.
The last show where bands join Slipknot is on June 27th, where Sleep Token will join them once again.
