Green Day Delight Fans In New York With Special ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ Tribute
Last night at Citi Field, Green Day delivered an unforgettable performance that left fans buzzing, not just for their high-energy hits, but for a unique and unexpected tribute to Marvel’s latest blockbuster, Deadpool & Wolverine.
During their set, as the band transitioned into the iconic ballad Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life), frontman Billie Joe Armstrong took center stage with an acoustic guitar. But the real surprise came when bassist Mike Dirnt and drummer Tré Cool reappeared on stage, decked out in full superhero attire as Deadpool and Wolverine.
The crowd erupted in cheers as the duo, fully embracing their Marvel personas, playfully threw drumsticks into the audience, adding a layer of fun to the touching performance. The choice of song was particularly fitting, as Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life) is featured over the end credits of the blockbuster film, creating a perfect crossover moment between the worlds of rock and superhero cinema.

They will play in Johannesburg at the FNB Stadium on January 19th, and in Cape Town at the DHL Stadium on January 23th.
