Taylor Swift Announces New Album The Tortured Poets Department
Taylor Swift brought a wave of excitement and surprise to the 2024 Grammy Awards on Sunday night. She received her 13th Grammy Award, but in addition, she announced a brand new album, The Tortured Poets Department. The album, which will be her eleventh studio album, is set to be released on April 19th, 2024.
Grammy Triumph: Taylor Swift’s 13th Win
Swift won a Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album with 2022 record Midnights. She surpassed tough competition from artists like Kelly Clarkson, Miley Cyrus, Olivia Rodrigo, and Ed Sheeran. The victory marked her 13th Grammy win, a significant number for her, which she fondly referred to as her “lucky number” during her acceptance speech. As she stood on stage to accept her Grammy, Taylor Swift shared her gratitude with the Recording Academy and, more importantly, her devoted fans. “I want to say thank you to the members of the Recording Academy for voting this way. But I know that the way that the Recording Academy voted is a direct reflection of the passion of the fans”
A Surprise Announcement: ‘The Tortured Poets Department’
“So I want to say thank you to the fans by telling you a secret that I’ve been keeping from you for the last two years, which is that my brand new album comes out on April 19,” she declared.

Chart-Topping Success: ‘Midnights’ Album
Released in October 2022, Midnights marked Taylor Swift‘s tenth original studio album. The record contained chart-topping hits like Anti-Hero, which soared to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, and Lavender Haze and Karma, both of which reached No. 2 on the chart.
