Netflix To Turn ‘Squid Game’ Into Reality Series
When you read this title, you must be thinking ‘Did Netflix even watch this show?!‘.But don’t worry! No one will die in this version.
Squid Game: The Challenge will have 456 players play a series of games inspired by the original show, Korean childhood games, and some new games, in the hope of winning $4.56million, which is the largest cash prize in reality TV history.
The original show was recently renewed for a second season after becoming Netflix‘ most-watched series of all time after just the first season.
In a statement, Netflix Vice President of unscripted and documentary series Brandon Riegg said: “Squid Game took the world by storm with Director Hwang’s captivating story and iconic imagery. We’re grateful for his support as we turn the fictional world into reality in this massive competition and social experiment.
Fans of the drama series are in for a fascinating and unpredictable journey as our 456 real world contestants navigate the biggest competition series ever, full of tension and twists, with the biggest ever cash prize at the end.”
