Ethan Hawke Returns For ‘The Black Phone 2’ Alongside Stellar Cast
In a thrilling announcement earlier this year, it was revealed that Scott Derrickson‘s horror masterpiece, The Black Phone, is set to receive a spine-chilling sequel. Today, Deadline reports that the talented Ethan Hawke will reprise his role as the sadistic killer known as The Grabber in The Black Phone 2.
Joining Hawke on this ominous journey are returning actors Mason Thames (“How to Train Your Dragon,” “Incoming”), Madeleine McGraw (“Toy Story 4,” “Secrets of Sulphur Springs”), Jeremy Davies (“Justified”), and Miguel Mora, who previously starred in the original Black Phone. The sequel, scheduled for release on June 27th, 2025, is once again a collaboration between Universal and Blumhouse.
The creative duo behind the first installment, Scott Derrickson and C. Robert Cargill, are back to pen and produce the sequel. However, there’s no official word on Derrickson returning as the director. The original film, based on Joe Hill‘s short story, captivated audiences worldwide and grossed an impressive $161 million at the box office.
As fans eagerly await more details about The Black Phone 2, it’s clear that the nightmare is far from over for the characters and the audience alike.
