HBO Orders Season Two For ‘The Last of Us’
This news may not come as a surprise, as the second episode was even more popular than the first one, but HBO has just ordered up season two of The Last Of Us.
According to Bloody Disgusting, “the first season will adapt the entirety of the first game, while Season 2 will adapt the game’s sequel.
The first episode of the show reeled in a whopping 4.7 million viewers on day one, and then episode 2 got even more, 5.7 million viewers on day one.

In a recent statement, co-showrunner Neil Druckmann said:
“I’m humbled, honored, and frankly overwhelmed that so many people have tuned in and connected with our retelling of Joel and Ellie’s journey. The collaboration with Craig Mazin, our incredible cast and crew, and HBO exceeded my already high expectations. Now we have the absolute pleasure of being able to do it again with season two! On behalf of everyone at Naughty Dog and PlayStation, thank you!”
“I’m so grateful to Neil Druckmann and HBO for our partnership, and I’m even more grateful to the millions of people who have joined us on this journey,” co-showrunner Craig Mazin then added. “The audience has given us the chance to continue, and as a fan of the characters and world Neil and Naughty Dog created, I couldn’t be more ready to dive back in.”
The finale of the first season will release on the 12th of March, 2023.
