‘Euphoria’ Star Angus Cloud Passed Away Aged 25
Angus Cloud, the young actor best known for his portrayal of Fezco, also known as Fez, on HBO’s hit series Euphoria, has tragically passed away at the tender age of 25. The devastating news was confirmed by Angus‘ family in a heartfelt statement released to TMZ on Monday, July 31st.
“It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today,” the statement reads. “As an artist, a friend, a brother, and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways. Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss. The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend.”
The statement also acknowledged Angus‘ openness about his battle with mental health, with the hope that his passing serves as a reminder to others that they are not alone and should seek support. “We hope the world remembers him for his humor, laughter, and love for everyone. We ask for privacy at this time as we are still processing this devastating loss.”
Angus Cloud rose to fame after being scouted on the street and landing the role of Fez on Euphoria, where he quickly became one of the most beloved characters on the show. His exceptional talent and popularity on the series opened doors for him, and he secured roles in several upcoming movies. Despite his untimely passing, audiences will still be able to see Angus in three posthumously released films.
One of these films is an as-yet-untitled monster thriller directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, scheduled for release in April 2024. Angus also worked on a new drama called Freaky Tales alongside actors Pedro Pascal, Jay Ellis, and Jack Champion, as well as a Dan Brown horror movie titled Your Lucky Day. Both films are currently in post-production, with release dates yet to be announced.
Additionally, Angus Cloud stars in the coming-of-age film The Line, featuring Alex Wolff (Hereditary), Austin Abrams (Chemical Hearts), and Halle Bailey (Disney’s The Little Mermaid), which received high praise from critics at the Tribeca Film Festival in June 2023 but is still awaiting a wide release.
