PHOTO REVIEW: Kid Kapichi Bring New Era Of Punk To Amsterdam
After years of hard work and perseverance, Kid Kapichi finally broke through when they performed at punk icon Frank Carter‘s birthday celebration. Riding the wave of this pivotal moment, Carter took the quartet on tour, exposing their music to the hearts of punk enthusiasts worldwide. Known for tackling heavy themes such as racism, poverty, and mental health, Kid Kapichi’s raw sound mixed with poignant lyrics led to significant success following their debut album, This Time Next Year. Their journey continued with their second album, Here’s What You Could Have Won, which saw collaborations with Bob Vylan and Dom Craik of Nothing But Thieves.
With the release of their latest album There Goes The Neighborhood in mid-March, the band has been gracing stages with their energetic performances. In 2023, Kid Kapichi sold out Melkweg’s Upstairs, and now, returning, they take the stage at Melkweg’s OZ, promising a night of unforgettable punk revelry.
