CONCERT REVIEW: The Plot In You Make Triumphant Return To The Netherlands

After a six-year hiatus from The Netherlands due to the pandemic and what frontman Landon Tewers described as a lack of interest in Europe, The Plot In You finally made their triumphant return. This time, they came back as headliners. Originally slated to perform on the second stage at Poppodium 013, the overwhelming demand for tickets led to an upgrade to the main stage. Despite the balcony and back stairs being closed off, the band played to a sold-out crowd that set a new record for attendance.

Fans were eager to see the band back in action, and they were not disappointed. The setlist leaned heavily on the band’s new material, including two recently released EPs that have been extremely well-received. The band also performed their latest single, Been Here Before, which will appear on an upcoming third EP. In a pre-show interview, Tewers shared the exciting news that after the third EP, fans can expect a fourth, marking the completion of the current “Volume” era.

The live performance itself was a spectacle. Confetti cannons exploded at the beginning of the set as the band launched into the crushing opener Don’t Look Away. The energy only grew from there, culminating in the fan-favourite Divide. Beyond the theatrics, the band focused on delivering their music with impeccable quality. The set was tight, and Tewers’ vocal prowess shone throughout the night. Whether it was his powerful screams on heavier tracks like Forgotten or the emotional range he displayed on softer songs like Closure, his performance was nothing short of extraordinary.

For a band that had previously felt underappreciated during earlier European tours, it must have been a surreal experience to see such a large crowd moshing, singing, and dancing throughout their 70-minute set. The Plot In You have clearly found a renewed following overseas, and the enthusiasm of the audience was palpable.

With this newfound popularity, fans are hoping the band returns to Europe soon, as their recent show left many wanting more. Be sure to check out the gallery below for visuals from the performance, and let us know when you last saw The Plot In You live!
