ROCK AM RING REVIEW: Volbeat Close Out Festival In Style
Where has the time gone? Before we knew it, we were in the pit for the headliner of the last evening of the 3-day festival: Volbeat. While we were not ready yet to say goodbye to an incredible weekend, we were ecstatic to see Volbeat perform in front of tens of thousands of people.
The charismatic Danes released their popular new album Servant Of The Mind last year, which was heavily featured on tonight’s setlist. Playing for 90 minutes, Volbeat were able to perform 5 songs from their new album, while also making sure all the fan-favourites such as Last Day Under The Sun, Still Counting & A Warrior’s Call.
Production-wise, Volbeat’s set heavily featured the fans, with multiple crew members filming the crowd from up-close and featuring the footage on the huge screens behind the band members. Unfortunately, the band didn’t bring as much fire power as Muse and Green Day did in the headline slots on prior days, but it was no bother. Volbeat know how to entertain a crowd of 70k with their catchy ‘punk ‘n roll’ and charisma.
