ROCK AM RING – Starset Introduces New Look During Stellar Rock Am Ring Set
Rock Am Ring, one of Germany’s biggest festivals was held this weekend and we are so happy to have been present. The festival welcomed the likes of The 1975, Bring Me The Horizon, IDKHOW, Against The Current and many, many more. Rock Am Ring is held at the Nurburgring, a Formula 1 race track. The location, as well as the team behind the festival, is impeccable and it is safe to say this year was a great success. We have seen performances of the greatest rock and metal acts throughout the weekend and will share our findings as well as the photos we took from each band.
Starset, the band surrounding frontman Dustin Bates are playing Rock Am Ring and Rock Im Park this year and we were stoked to witness the band’s live performance once again. Over the years, we have seen Starset quite a few times and have gotten used to their stellar decor on stage. The futuristic computer, the space helmets, and outfits – which are handmade by Dustin Bates – and the back-up string instruments. You can imagine the shock when the band entered the stage, all dressed in suits that made us think of a post-apocalyptic world of some sort. This makes sense, as Starset have been teasing and chances are a new era is right around the corner.
The band’s performance was as great as ever. A lot of smoke, different microphones, and stellar music. With a diverse discography, Starset ranged from pop-rock with ‘My Demons’ and ‘Monster’ but didn’t shy away from their heavier music on this Rock Am Ring set.
Photos from the brand new Starset look during the performance can be checked out in the gallery below. Eva van Kuik made all the photos.
