Architects Release New Track, ‘A New Moral Ground’

Architects drop latest single, a new moral ground, ahead of the release of their upcoming album, The Classic Symptoms Of A Broken Spirit.

A few months ago when Architects announced the news of their 10th album, Searle both producing and drumming on the record said that this release was “a lot more playful and spontaneous” and it shows.

Unexpected guitar solos, experimenting with electronic sounds, and Carter showcasing his frankly insane vocal range. A new moral ground, released today, with an incredible new music video, has everything. This track is a blend of Architects‘ signature sound with the energy and sound they’re bringing to this new record.

Vocalist Sam shared on Twitter that this is one of his favourites off the album, and you can see why. Unsurprisingly, it’s gone down a storm.

The Classic Symptoms Of A Broken Spirit will be released October 21st. Check out the new track and video below!

CONCERT REVIEW: Mayday Parade Kick Off Anniversary Tour With As It Is & Real Friends

A drizzly Monday night in Nottingham is not the setting you think of for a jam-packed pop-punk show, but tonight that’s exactly what we’ve got as Mayday Parade embark on their 10-year anniversary tour for their self-titled album at the legendary Rock City.

First up, Real Friends! With this being their tenth visit to the UK, Real Friends are no strangers here, but this time they bring with them new lead singer Cody Muraro who joined the band in 2020 after the departure of Dan Lambton. It’s early, it’s a weeknight and Rock City isn’t as full as it should be when they take the stage, but quickly the amount of people in the room doesn’t matter. Playing songs from their debut album Put Yourself Back Together to their latest EP Always Lose, the band make this feel like a Real Friends show. The energy from the crowd fills the room and you remember why these guys have been on the scene for as long as they have. If you’re going to this tour, do yourself a favour and get down there early enough for their set.

Brighton based powerhouse As It Is are up next and although these guys are no strangers to playing in Nottingham, you have to think their time to headline this room is coming. I am sometimes guilty about forgetting what a packed back catalogue these guys have, but it’s hit after hit, from new songs like IDGAF, I MISS 2003 and IN THREES to the whole room blowing up for Dial Tones off their debut album, As It Is are on form. With their last two albums The Great Depression and I WENT TO HELL AND BACK doing so incredibly well, it really does feel like this is their time and I wouldn’t be surprised to see them back here headlining real soon.

Finally, it’s Mayday Parade time. Now, I remember buying their 1st record so the fact that their self-titled 3rd album is turning 10 is making me feel a bittersweet nostalgia, and I don’t think I’m alone in that sentiment. There is something undeniably special about hearing an album played in full, front to back, the way it was intended to be heard. From singles such as Oh Well, Oh Well to fan favourites, A Shot Across the Bow and Call Me Hopeless, Not Romantic this show is a reminder of why Mayday Parade do these 10-year anniversary shows for their albums; they stand the test of time.

An evening of beautiful piano-accompanied sing-a-longs and anthems from the emo kings of pop-punk comes to a close. The evening ends with a hit-filled encore and recent single Kids of Summer, showing why, after nearly 20 years together, Mayday Parade are still so loved by their fans. Mayday Parade, As It Is and Real Friends continue their tour of the UK over the next week – are you heading to a show? Let us know!
In the meantime, check out the self-titled record below:

CONCERT REVIEW: My Chemical Romance’s Swarm Takes Over Milton Keynes

Following their two warm-up shows at the Eden Project in Cornwall, New Jersey’s My Chemical Romance took the stage at Milton Keynes Stadium last night for their first of three headline shows. Not only was the setting wildly different but so was the appearance of MCR’s front man Gerard Way who made his first performance in costume for over ten years, sparking excitement, confusion and debate amongst MCR fans everywhere about what this means for a possible new era for the band.

As the sun sets, the lights dim and with just moments to go before they’re due on stage the rumbles of helicopter sounds and static fill the arena. The tension rises until they finally take the stage and kick things off with new track The Foundations of Decay, before going straight into Helena, showing that tonight it doesn’t matter if you’re an old school fan or a new comer, this show is for everyone. Tonight marks 10 years since the band played their last show before they announced their split in 2013, this really does feel like a monumentally special occasion. However, what made this occasion even more special is how normal it felt, almost like you were seeing an old friend again for the first time in forever and you pick right back up where you left off.

Everyone is at home here, and so are the band, performing with constant genuine smiles on their faces, it is plain to see how much they are enjoying playing together by each other sides again. Fans have waited longer than your average for this show, this is their first headline tour across the UK for 11 years and these shows alone had been postponed for two years with tickets originally going on sale in January 2020. It’s safe to say that fans are more than ready for the evening ahead of them.

Throughout the night we’re treated to a little bit of everything from every album from Bullets to Danger Days and rarer tracks from Conventional Weapons. With Gerard confirming that each show will be different every night, if you’re heading to this tour, you’re in for a surprise.

As the evening goes on we go from well-known classics such as Teenagers and Thank You for the Venom, to fan favourites such as It’s Not a Fashion Statement, It’s a Deathwish and Famous Last Words, the evening takes on a life of its own and seems to go by too quickly.

Before the evening comes to a close Gerard takes a moment to acknowledge that there are some MCR fans who have been attending their shows, who are no longer with us, a remembrance flag is displayed onstage, filled with the names of those who have lost their lives with the top of the flag reading ‘Your memory will carry on’ the flag was a project by @cemeterycure (via Twitter) who started the project when these shows were announced 2 years ago and has been gathering names across social media ever since. A touching moment to remember those people and acknowledge how special this community is.

Goodnite, Dr.Death is blasted out across the arena as they exit the stage, some fans recognising that anthem of what is yet to come, they return to the stage for one last chance to dance to Vampire Money. A perfect way to round off the evening. As the lights come back up and thousands of fans pour out of the stadium, you can’t help but wonder what magic is in store over the weekend shows. Are you heading to one of My Chemical Romances shows? Let us know where you’re going and what you’re hoping to hear!

You Me At Six Release New Single Ft. Rou Reynolds

It’s been a busy year for You Me At Six, announcing a new album, playing anniversary shows for album, Sinners Never Sleep, and releasing new music. The latest of which, came out today.

No Future? Yeah Right, featuring Rou Reynolds of Enter Shikari is the second track to be released off upcoming record Truth Decay, following the release of single Deep Cuts in July.

The track is a packed with a cathartic aggression, lead vocalist Josh Franceschi saying this “is a song that focuses in on breaking the chain of a negative cycle“. Rou‘s presence is very much apparent on this track, powerful vocals from him and Josh definitely make this a track you’ll want on their setlist for the upcoming Truth Decay Tour in 2023.

The track has been accompanied with a music video which you can watch below! Have you checked out the track yet? Let us know what you think!
