ROCK AM RING 2024: Beartooth Play Headline-Worthy Show

It’s time to buckle up and dive headfirst into the world of one of Europe’s biggest celebrations of rock & metal music. Rock Am Ring 2024, where music enthusiasts from all walks of life unite under the banner of rock ‘n’ roll. Join us on this extraordinary journey as we witness the power of rock, metal and everything in between in all its glory. Rock Am Ring 2024 promises to be a monumental chapter in the festival’s storied history and you’ll find all the coverage you need right here at Strife Mag.

Beartooth have been on a steady rise ever since they burst out onto the scene. Due to the steady growth, the band have now entered the era in which they are playing late-night lengthier slots at festivals, and can even be considered to headline on festivals catered to metal and rock audiences. Last year, Beartooth were one of the closing acts on Jera On Air, a privilege which they took very seriously. That night, Beartooth truly brought it all. CO2 cannons, pyro, confetti, everything was present. Little did we know that Beartooth are on a quest to outdo themselves from one year ago, because at Rock Am Ring 2024 that is exactly what they did.

The show started a bit odd, with just frontman Caleb Shomo coming onto the stage with little to no special effect. He looked around in awe at the absolutely massive crowd before the rest of the band came out and they kicked off proceedings with Sunshine!, taken from their 2023 album The Surface. A little into the song, the crowd was sprayed with confetti and the tone was set for the rest of the evening.

Beartooth have garnered an astonishing amount of fans throughout the years really with a steady stream of great music. They haven’t experienced a sudden burst of popularity like, for example, Bad Omens have in recent years. For Beartooth, slow and steady has won the race because the crowd that gathered for their headline-worthy set is exceptional. In return for the huge turnout, Beartooth truly pulled out all the stops for their show. The aforementioned pyro, CO2 cannons and confetti were even joined by fireworks on the stage, as well as behind the stage for the entire festival to see when the last notes of the set closer In-Between were played.

As for the setlist, even with the steady rise, the focus was on the 2023 album The Surface, with the title track even making its live debut. Halfway through the set, Caleb Shomo grabbed his acoustic guitar and played an acoustic rendition of The Killers’ Mr. Brightside. After the first verse and chorus, Shomo quickly returned to original material and started playing Look The Other Way on his own. Not too long into the song, the rest of the band came back on stage to finish the song in full swing.

Beartooth have the festival headliner show figured out, even to the little acoustic interlude in the middle and the fireworks show at the end, this show brought as many gimmicks as a Green Day show. If we count a buttoning or unbuttoning of a shirt as a wardrobe change, Shomo even took inspiration from Taylor Swift and graced the stage in a total of 8 different outfits to compliment the song being played.

Beartooth have truly outdone themselves once again. Here’s to hoping we get the same treatment at their headliner tour in Europe taking place later this year with Polaris and LANDMVRKS!

ROCK AM RING 2024: Dropkick Murphys Know How To Party

It’s time to buckle up and dive headfirst into the world of one of Europe’s biggest celebrations of rock & metal music. Rock Am Ring 2024, where music enthusiasts from all walks of life unite under the banner of rock ‘n’ roll. Join us on this extraordinary journey as we witness the power of rock, metal and everything in between in all its glory. Rock Am Ring 2024 promises to be a monumental chapter in the festival’s storied history and you’ll find all the coverage you need right here at Strife Mag.

There’s very little about a Dropkick Murphys show that is left unsaid, and that is because the band have their ‘party formula’ sorted out. The band play their mix of Irish folk and punk rock with so much verve, that it’s hard to stand still watching the band perform. As a result, the moshpit whirls from the first moment onwards and beer flies through the sky all over the place. It is worth noting that the band played the mainstage hours at the start of the evening, but Rock Am Ring massively came out to watch the band perform. As far as the eye could see, people were dancing, jumping and moshing around to the many well-known songs from the outfit.

The setlist consisted of your usual suspects, including Shipping Up To Boston, Johnny I Hardly Knew Ya & The Boys Are Back. A Dropkick Murphys is a party like no other, and their show at Rock Am Ring was no exception. The only difference in comparison to the Dutch shows we have seen from the band so far is that there were a few more tens of thousands of people partying alongside the band!

ROCK AM RING 2024: Scene Queen’s Controversial Performance Leaves Us Puzzled

It’s time to buckle up and dive headfirst into the world of one of Europe’s biggest celebrations of rock & metal music. Rock Am Ring 2024, where music enthusiasts from all walks of life unite under the banner of rock ‘n’ roll. Join us on this extraordinary journey as we witness the power of rock, metal and everything in between in all its glory. Rock Am Ring 2024 promises to be a monumental chapter in the festival’s storied history and you’ll find all the coverage you need right here at Strife Mag.

Scene Queen’s performance was one of the first times I ever felt old. Not particularly in age, but Scene Queen is one of the very few artists where I just do not get the appeal. She kicked things off with her single Finger, taken from her upcoming debut album Hot Singles In Your Area. The song is focused on sexual acts, in this particular scenario between two women, with lyricism that is rather ‘on the nose’ and vulgar. In-between choruses and songs she lets her political colours do the talking, as she promotes gay sex and her desire for men to just ‘shut the fuck up’.

When listening to the songs, I cannot say with certainty that the music itself took the forefront when these songs were written. Perhaps Scene Queen was more worried about getting her message across. To draw a comparison, Three Days Grace did the same with their album Human. Whether you stand by it or against it, the messages throughout the album are crystal clear but when it comes to Three Days Grace‘s Human, the music itself becomes a bit repetitive. In Scene Queen‘s example, the music seems a bit simplistic. While I understand there’s an audience out there for Scene Queen, I don’t count myself to be one of them.

Check out some of the images of her performance right below and let us know if you are going to see Scene Queen live during the festival season. Stay tuned to all our Rock Am Ring coverage by following our socials over on X, Instagram and Facebook.

ROCK AM RING 2024: Enter Shikari Are Phenomenal As Always

It’s time to buckle up and dive headfirst into the world of one of Europe’s biggest celebrations of rock & metal music. Rock Am Ring 2024, where music enthusiasts from all walks of life unite under the banner of rock ‘n’ roll. Join us on this extraordinary journey as we witness the power of rock, metal and everything in between in all its glory. Rock Am Ring 2024 promises to be a monumental chapter in the festival’s storied history and you’ll find all the coverage you need right here at Strife Mag.

Enter Shikari have a busy summer ahead. Much like Fit For A King, Enter Shikari will be present at Jera On Air too. To prepare for the festival summer ahead, Enter Shikari played a smaller club show in The Netherlands last night to warm up and take their elaborate stage set-up for a test drive before hitting the festival circuit.

Enter Shikari‘s set kicked off their mainstage set with frontman and vocalist Rou Reynolds walking on stage and starting the spoken intro of System…. When it was time for the instrumental part of System… and its counterpart …Meltdown to kick in, Frontman Rou Reynolds and his bandmates wasted no time in ramping up the energy. Their dynamic stage presence was infectious, igniting the audience from the get-go. The set kicked off with a mix of newer tracks and classics. Highlights of the show included the anthemic Live Outside, which had everyone singing along, and the explosive Sssnakepit, which transformed the crowd into a sea of movement and energy.

The setlist was a testament to Enter Shikari‘s evolution over the years, seamlessly blending tracks from their early days with newer material. This balance not only showcased the band’s growth but also catered to both long-time fans and newer listeners alike. Enter Shikari have been on the scene for a while and it not only shows by their discography. The band is comfortable on stage and effortlessly combines musicianship with entertainment. We have thoroughly enjoyed the band’s set and are now more eager than ever to see what they have in store for their headliner slot at Jera On Air later this month.

ROCK AM RING 2024: Fit For A King Take On The European Festivals For The First Time

For us, the festival kicked off the always energetic and melodic metalcore outfit Fit For A King, who shared while on stage that this was their first trek through the European festival circuit. Later this month, we will once again be delighted by FFAK’s presence, as they will grace the stage at Jera On Air.

Fit For A King focused on their more recent material for their Rock Am Ring performance, with fan favourites from The Path, Dark Skies & most recently The Hell We Create being performed live. The iconic Backbreaker and God of Fire had the fans particularly roaring, but for a kick-off show of the festival, the energy level was already incredibly high. We have a great weekend ahead of us.

While the afternoon slot did not bring much of a production, Fit For A King‘s performance at Rock Am Ring was a reminder of why they are one of the leading acts in the metalcore scene today. Their ability to deliver a powerful, high-energy show while maintaining a connection with their audience is a rare and commendable talent. For fans of the genre, this was a set to remember, and for those experiencing the band for the first time, it was a compelling introduction to what Fit For A King is all about. Fit For A King have a signature catchy chorus, so chances are they have made some new fans in the audience today.
