ROCK AM RING REVIEW: You Me At Six & Weezer Kick Things Off On Mainstage

We are at Rock Am Ring again this weekend and could not be more exciting! For us, the weekend kicked off with the performances of two titans of industry: You Me At Six and Weezer on the mainstage, or as it was called this year, the Utopia Stage.

Unfortunately, You Me At Six came on stage very late, which really cut their performance short to only a handful of songs being played, but the songs they did play were incredible. The musicians were determined to make the most of the songs they had, and got the crowd moshing, jumping and everything in between. The very short, but sweet setlist consisted of the songs SUCKAPUNCH, Adrenaline, the classic and favourite Bite My Tongue and closing things with Underdog. Check out some photos from their short and sweet performance in the gallery below.

Luckily, whatever scheduling errors were made, Weezer started right on time, ironically even a few minutes early, so the fans got their worthwhile of Weezer songs for a total of 45 minutes. In this time, the band’s setlist included Beverly Hills, My Name Is Jones and Say It Ain’t So. For nostalgia sake, it was incredible to watch Weezer perform, but show wise not a lot was happening. The songs were performed exceptionally well but did come across a little stiff. Check out some shots from their performance in the gallery below.

My Chemical Romance Play ‘Bury Me In Black’ & ‘Hang ‘Em High’ During First US Shows

My Chemical Romance are officially on the road again! After a very successful trek through mainland Europe and the United Kingdom, it’s now time for the US fans to get their facetime with the popular band on their comeback tour.

The tour kicked off this weekend, with the first show happening last Saturday in Oklahoma, with a few surprises on the setlist. The biggest surprise of them all being the live performance of Bury Me In Black, which hasn’t happened since 2003. Another honourable mention would be This Is The Best Day Ever, which was last played live all the way back in 2005. Not to mention that frontman Gerard Way came on stage with Joker-inspired make-up and outfit.

Much like the European leg of the tour, My Chemical Romance are playing a different setlist each night, which means that the second show of the tour, the show in San Antonio had a few different surprises, with the biggest one being the Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge track Hang ‘Em High, which hasn’t been played live since 2011.

We cannot wait what else the band has in store for us during this extensive trek through the United States of America. Are you seeing My Chemical Romance live this year? Let us know via social media!

Paramore’s Hayley Williams Launches Radio Show ‘Everything Is Emo’

Hayley Williams is doing something new! The frontwoman of one of the most iconic bands within our scene (and outside of it), has launched her own radio show, which carries the title Everything Is Emo.

The new show is launching as part of BBC Sounds’ Back To Back Sounds. In the show, Williams will discuss artists who helped shape the music that we nowadays call emo, going back to the start in the ’90s all the way up to right now.

In a statement, Hayley Williams shared the following about the radio show: “Not long ago, people started calling me a ‘veteran’ of my scene and of the music industry,” Williams says. “It sounds so funny to me because most of the time I still feel like a fan. The serious truth is I have, in fact, grown up in this scene for the last two decades. I guess that’s a pretty long time. I’m really excited to have the opportunity to publicly nerd out about bands and songs that make my favorite subgenre feel like home to me. And while it will be fun to take some trips down memory lane, I’m just as excited, if not more, to play music from new artists I’m discovering all the time.”

I bet you’re very eager to check this all out, right? You can!
