CONCERT REVIEW: Pierce The Veil’s Triumphant Return To The Netherlands

A year ago, Pierce The Veil set the alternative music world abuzz with the announcement of their European tour, celebrating their new album “The Jaws of Life.” Tickets flew off the shelves, leaving fans buzzing with excitement for months. Finally, last night, the long-awaited concert took place.

The evening kicked off with Dayseeker for us, as we were not in time to watch Holding Absence’s set. Dayseeker had their own reasons for playing shows in Europe, as they recently released a new album and came over to promote their album “Dark Sun.” The band made a strong impression, clearly resonating with the crowd. Many knew their hits like “Sleeptalk” and “Without Me,” and their performance undoubtedly won over new fans among the 3,000 Dutch attendees. A highlight was when Lucas Woodland from Holding Absence joined Dayseeker on stage for a touching performance of “Starving To Be Empty.”

After waiting another 30 minutes, the lights finally went out for the last time that night. It was time, after a year of anticipated wait, for Pierce The Veil to grace the stage in front of 3,000 of their ecstatic Dutch fans to properly promote the release of their album ‘The Jaws of Life’, which saw the band’s older fanbase reignite their passion for the band, as well as introduced a whole new generation to the unique music that Pierce The Veil are cherished for.

The band’s show became a testament to their experience, as well as their capacity to evolve. Older songs like “Caraphernelia” received a very warm welcome from the legion of (mostly) young fans, while new songs also received quite the praise. Pierce The Veil even made space on their setlist for a Nirvana cover of ‘Karma Police’ right before playing the lead single off of their most recent effort, “Pass The Nirvana”. A song which translated exquisitely well to a live rendition. As is common knowledge amongst the PTV fans, the band can also tune the energy knob way down, as they did tonight for songs like “Hold On Till May”, as well as an acoustic rendition of “Bulletproof Love”, showcasing the versatility of the band’s discography.

After taking some time for some slower songs, the energy quickly turned back to mayhem with fueled performances of “Hell Above” and “The Jaws of Life”. Production-wise, Pierce The Veil brought along confetti and CO2 cannons, but the main attraction of the show truly was the music and the fact the band had not been in Europe for an extensive period. Truth is, the band could not have screwed this up even if they tried to, as a lot of the fans sang along so loudly that at times, vocalist Vic Fuentes could not even be properly heard himself. Get a glimpse of what the show looked like in the gallery below and let us know if you are attending any of the upcoming Pierce The Veil shows.

Luckily for the European and UK fans, Martinez is now taking the Trilogy Tour overseas as well, playing shows across the continent in September and October, playing some of her biggest shows in Europe to date.

Twenty One Pilots Announce ‘Next Semester’ As Next Single

After the release of lead single Overcompensate, Twenty One Pilots are now gearing up for a second single to release ‘next week’. As revealed via social media, the upcoming single will be titled Next Semester, and will of course be featured on the band’s highly anticipated new album Clancy, which will release on the 17th of May via Fueled By Ramen.

The band took to social media to reveal the release will take place somewhere next week with an image that does look like a music video.

In a recent thread on X, Tyler Joseph shared that there are going to be music videos for each and every one of the songs on the upcoming album, so it would make sense for Next Semester to release with an accompanying music video.

Check out the teaser below and let us know if you are excited for the 2nd single off of Clancy to release next week!

A Day To Remember Are Teasing On Social Media

It has been a bit quiet surrounding A Day To Remember regarding new releases or tour dates, but this will most likely change very soon. The band took to social media to reveal that there is an announcement coming, and we don’t have to wait long for the announcement either. Tomorrow, on the 19th of March, A Day To Remember will reveal something, as you can see in the post on X below or via the official A Day To Remember Instagram.

Besides the imminent announcement, we know that A Day To Remember will be featured on this year’s When We Were Young line-up, where the band will play their album Homesick in full.

Yungblud Announces Own Festival ‘Bludfest’ Announces First Names

Yungblud has taken yet another extraordinary step in his music career with the creation of his very own festival BLUDFEST.

This summer, the first edition of Bludfest will take place on the 11th of August at the Milton Keynes Bowl. The festival will be headlined by Yungblud himself. The line-up features the likes of Lil Yachty, Nessa Barrett, Soft Play, The Damned & more. There are also still names to be revealed for the line-up.

Regarding the creation of the festival, Yungblud shared the following statement on social media alongside the festival announcement:

5 years ago we imagined a world of our own. In @blud_fest we are physically going to build one. This will be a physical safe space where people can come and celebrate the ideologies of this community – where unity, individuality and love is the main focus and we bring the world of Yungblud to fucking life right before your eyes. I wanted to build an experience where anyone can be completely themselves, with their friends, their family or completely on their own. I want to create an experience that blurs the lines of genre, destroys the limitation of imagination, cuts the corporate bullshit and is all about people coming together.

Tickets will go on pre-sale this Thursday at 10AM local time, with the general sale kicking off a day later. Check the post below for more information and get ready for Yungblud’s BLUDFEST!
